Frequently Asked Questions
-
Art therapy is a holistic, evidence-based approach that combines creative expression with psychological insight. At Blue Pines Counseling, we use art-making to help you process anxiety and trauma in a way that feels safe, non-invasive, and deeply personal.
-
Not at all. Art therapy is about expression, not artistic skill. You don’t need any prior experience, just a willingness to explore. Many clients find that creating images allows them to access emotions, patterns, and insights that are difficult to identify through traditional talk therapy alone.
-
We take a holistic, personalized approach that integrates art therapy with trauma-informed care, somatic awareness, and evidence-based practices. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we help you explore your inner world, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.
-
We support children, teens, adults, and couples navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, grief, and identity exploration. Our work is especially helpful for those seeking deeper self-understanding, healing, and a more authentic connection to themselves and their lives.
-
Life transitions, whether expected or unexpected, can feel destabilizing. Therapy offers a space to reflect, process, and realign. Through art therapy and integrative counseling, we help you clarify your values, navigate change, and move forward with greater confidence and intention.
-
Meaningful growth is about more than symptom relief. It’s about developing self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a deeper sense of purpose. Our work focuses on helping you create a life that feels aligned, grounded, and authentically yours.
-
We are a private pay practice, which allows us to prioritize your privacy and provide highly personalized care. If desired, we can provide a Superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement through your insurance provider.
