September 30th | October 21st | November 18th Rooted & Growing
An integrative art and Nature workshop series
What to Expect
Rooted & Growing is a multi-session workshop series that blends creative expression, nature-based practices, and reflective exercises to support emotional well-being and nervous system regulation. Grounded in principles of integrative art therapy, this series invites participants to explore themes of growth, resilience, and self-awareness through hands-on engagement with natural materials and artistic processes.
❋ Intentional StructureThese workshops are intended to support nervous system regulation through sensory and nature-based activities allowing self-reflection and personal insights to come through.
❋ Collaborative EnergyConnection is a core part of the process. Not only will you cultivate a deeper connection with yourself, you’ll learn just as much from the shared group experience.
❋ Practiced FacilitationLed by Tiernee Schatz a registered art therapist and Jackie, plant connoisseur of Happy Roots, know how to hold space, encourage participation, and keep things moving with purpose.
❋ A Supportive SpaceOur workshops prioritize comfort, safety, and respect so you can show up as you are and fully engage in the process.
Intention Planting Ritual: Cultivating Growth
In this reflective activity, participants will write down an intention. Something they wish to nurture, develop, or invite into their lives. This intention is placed into soil and symbolically “planted” beneath a living plant.
Botanical Illustration: Observation and Inner Reflection
Participants will be guided through a mindful art process, observing and illustrating a selected plant using simple drawing materials. Emphasis is placed on slow looking, curiosity, and non-judgment.
Kokedama Workshop: Grounding Through Creation
Participants will create a kokedama (Japanese moss ball plant) using soil, moss, and twine. This hands-on process emphasizes sensory engagement and connection to the natural world.
Reconnect with your body, mind, and nature as you escape the noise of everyday life.
